PropTech platform Podium has raised S$20.4 million (US$15.1 million) in a series A1 round led by software giant Autodesk, the company said recently. Other participating investors include elevator manufacturer Schindler and real estate group Lendlease.
The funds will help Podium – which aims to connect developers, designers, and suppliers – to accelerate its growth in key markets. These include Singapore and Australia, where Podium is in advanced discussions with property developers, design consultants, supply chain partners, and government agencies to join its platform.
“Podium’s platform addresses the critical challenges facing the built environment today, including low productivity, high waste, cost inefficiencies, and the growing need for sustainable building practices,” the company said.
First incubated within Lendlease in 2020, Podium became an independent technology startup in September 2024. Its automation algorithms automatically generate detailed building models based on factors such as the estimated cost of the project, the number of units for residential developments, and desired floor-to-ceiling height and loading limits for industrial buildings.
Suppliers can also upload product data including technical specifications and product catalogues, which will allow designers to generate building designs incorporating their materials and pre-fabricated components. In one of Podium’s trial projects, the software was able to generate an architectural and structural schematic plan for a ramp-up industrial building in minutes – achieving what typically takes weeks with conventional methods.
