Pininfarina Completes Brazil’s Tallest Skyscraper in Balneário Camboriú

The twin 81-storey towers reach 294 metres (964 feet)

Italian design studio Pininfarina has completed Yachthouse, the tallest building in Brazil, cementing Balneário Camboriú’s reputation as South America’s skyscraper capital. The twin 81-storey towers reach 294 metres (964 feet), just six metres shy of ‘supertall’ status. Developed by Pasqualotto & GT, Yachthouse is designed to be an architectural icon. “With Yachthouse, the objective was never just to build the tallest building – it was to create an architectural icon that embodies performance, elegance, and innovation,” said Pininfarina’s chief architect officer, Samuele Sordi.

Nautical-Inspired Design

Positioned at Marina Tedesco, the towers reflect their maritime surroundings. The shared triangular podium represents a yacht’s keel, anchoring the twin towers. Clad in dark reflective glass with aluminum bands for shade, the buildings feature a notched cap and an opaque spine. “The design of Yachthouse by Pininfarina draws inspiration from its coastal surroundings and nautical heritage,” the studio stated.

Urban Impact

Beyond its height, Yachthouse plays a key role in Balneário Camboriú’s urban transformation. The city’s zoning laws allow developers to buy additional height, fueling a surge in skyscrapers. “It serves as a destination for both residents and tourists, catalyzing urban revitalization,” said Pininfarina.

Completed in 2024, Yachthouse dethroned One Tower as the city’s tallest building by four metres, thanks to decorative 13-metre pinnacles.

Future Developments

Balneário Camboriú’s skyline continues to evolve, with the Senna Tower set to become the world’s tallest residential skyscraper upon completion. “We are honored to shape the city's skyline and contribute to its bold, forward-thinking architectural identity,” concluded Sordi. As Brazil’s tallest residential towers, Yachthouse sets a new benchmark for luxury real estate and architectural innovation.
