NMDC Awards Contracts To Turner Arabia

Saudi-based New Murabba Development Company (NMDC) has awarded Turner Arabia, a leading construction management consultancy, with a significant contract to oversee project management services for its ambitious development, The Mukaab, located centrally in New Murabba, Riyadh.

The Mukaab is poised to be a standout architectural marvel, integrating cutting-edge technologies. Boasting groundbreaking facilities, it is set to rank among the world’s most expansive built structures. “We are proud to partner with Turner Arabia on this challenging project given their extensive experience in managing complex building projects,” according to a company spokesperson. Recently, NMDC also signed an agreement with Bechtel Corporation for project management services for the masterplan and site-wide infrastructure for New Murabba.

The agreement was signed by Sabah Barakat, the Acting CEO of New Murabba Development Company, and Jacob Mumm, Senior Vice President and Regional President at Bechtel. “It is about transforming the landscape and future of Riyadh and creating the world’s largest modern downtown, with The Mukaab, the world’s largest immersive experience complex, at its centre,” said Bechtel in a post.

NMDC is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), and its Board of Directors is chaired by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. According to NMDC, The Mukaab consists of a large retail element and an iconic hotel inside it and surrounded by an immersive experience screen, four mixed-use corner towers, as well as the world’s largest usable roof space, all wrapped in a Najdi architecturally inspired façade. The Mukaab will sit on a massive basement and podium structure which will complete the architectural masterpiece.
