The Eklund | Gomes Team at Douglas Elliman has taken AI adoption to the next level with the launch of Maya, an AI real estate expert. Maya utilises property photos to provide tailored listing information, and it continually learns through active engagement with users. From answers about neighbourhoods to the basics of real estate, Maya aims to act as a knowledgeable guide for buyers and sellers.
Fredrik Eklund and John Gomes, the founders of the Eklund | Gomes Team, describe themselves as “Maya’s two dads”. Maya’s interface is built on ChatGPT and it efficiently retrieves listings, clarifies the difference between a co-op and a condo, and provides insights into celebrity vacation home markets.
To ensure continuous improvement, users can rate Maya’s answers with a thumbs-up or thumbs-down. Affirmed answers strengthen Maya’s knowledge base. The AI avatar has been in development for 18 months and is depicted as a helpful, friendly, and always available guide for real estate transactions. Although Maya is not the only AI-powered real estate expert on the market, it distinguishes itself with a personalised interface, complete with a face and, in version 2.0, an animated appearance.
Maya will reside on the new Eklund | Gomes website and is open to all users who register their email address. The avatar has been trained on thousands of real estate articles, providing valuable insights into customer behavior and preferences to Eklund | Gomes. Maya can remember conversations, send personalized messages, and even connect users with the appropriate agent.
In addition to Maya, the Eklund | Gomes Team is expanding its services to include the sale of jets and yachts on their redesigned website. With their new brand built around Maya, Eklund and Gomes aim to create a more personal and enjoyable real estate experience for their clientele.
Maya was developed in partnership with Purlin, a company specializing in AI and personalised home-buying experiences. Purlin’s investors include New Valley Ventures, a proptech investment arm of Douglas Elliman brokerage.
